Andrew Scheps is one of my mixing heroes. Channel Strips are one of the smartest tools a mixer can use.
Put them together? You get the Scheps Omni Channel from Waves.
And in this video I give you a review/overview of the plugin and let you hear it on a recent mix.
P.S. You can listen to the final mix of this song here (or on Spotify).
Hello Graham am Andy from Africa Zambia, i really love your tutorials on music production coz i had completly no ideal about production but atleast am able to familiarize with some DAWs.
My request is, i know you really like focussing on sophisticated Daws lake protools, which make it had for beginners like us to get the concept, i would really appreciate if you make a video on how to mix in cubase for beginners and and FL
Thanks again and again! You’re a genius! : ) A really down to earth, spiritual amazing genius! : )
You are too kind 🙂
Hey Graham. Great video and info as always. Amazing Song!!!Love the vocal. Just bought the Omni Channel and will be using it soon in some up and coming music. Quick question, Do you also do opposite cut and boost eq on your back ground vocals as you pan them? I know it gives a little more separation from left to right. Very nice mixing technique. Thanks again for all you do and add to the song writing and mixing community.
Haven’t tried it with Background Vocals. Great idea though!
Great coverage. . . I got the Scheps Omni about 6 months ago – and love it. Did what you did; mixed an entire song with (nearly) only the Omni Channel. It’s so great, flexible.
