5 Minutes To A Better Mix: Pre Vs. Post Fader Sends - Part 15 of 31

2011 Mar 15, 2011

We’re back with yet another 5 minute mixing video and today I want to teach you the difference between using pre fader and post fader sends. Excited yet? Well, maybe not, but this concept is crucial to working in your mix properly and can be eye opening for newer mixers.

A World Of Possibilities

You can use sends in your mix for just about anything. A lot of times we use them for routing tracks to effects like a reverb or delay, but we can even use them to route “copies” of tracks to be processed differently and in parallel with the original. No matter what you are trying to do in a mix, you should know the difference between pre and post fader so you have the most control over the mix.
