I remember the first time I realized that double tracking overdriven guitars and panning them left and right was totally awesome.

From that point on I would layer as many double tracked guitars as possible – in hopes that it would give me that wall of sound my rock mixes needed.

I got a wall of sound alright – a wall of mushy, undefined sound.
